Suzuki is all set to launch its SX4-FCV (fuel-cell vehicle) car.
The company will introduce Suzuki Swift, a plug-in hybrid version car, and a hydrogen-powered SX4. These two cars will be introduced by the company at Tokyo Auto show this year. Both cars will be the center of attraction at the auto show.
Hybrid Swift is powered with 660cc petrol engine and an electric motor power-driven by lithium-ion batteries. While on electric engine, the car has a range of 20km. The batteries can be charged while on the move also as the petrol engine has a generator to charge batteries.
The company also revealed the fact that the production of hybrid car is likely to start within two years, initially for the Japanese market, but if it proves to be successful, the company may think of selling it in other countries.
On the other hand, SX4 uses the hydrogen-powered fuel cell, developed by General Motors. The car is on test in Japan for the last year on public roads.
