Mercedes aims to overcome BMW in India

Mercedes Benz, a German car maker company, aims to get back its top ranking in the premium luxury car segment in India. Currently, BMW leads the Indian market with its latest products range.

Moreover, Mercedes Benz also faces strong competition from new participants like Jaguar and Audi in India. These new car maker companies are also making their presence felt by their products in the market.

While talking to media, MD and CEO of Mercedes Benz India, Wilfried Aulbur said, “Last year we led India's luxury car segment with a 46 percent market share. This year Mercedes is somewhat behind BMW, but we are hopeful of gaining momentum in the coming days.”

Mercedes Benz has sold 3,625 cars in India last year. But, this year it looks quite difficult for the company to make as much sales because of stiff competition from all sides.

The company has recently rolled out its new model of Mercedes E-Class in the Indian market.
