Founder of Satyam Computer Services, B. Ramalinga Raju was shifted to the ICU on Thursday night at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Science (NIMS) after he complained of chest pain.
According to the reports, Raju’s bail application will come up for hearing at local court in Hyderabad.
Mr. B. R. Raju has applied for the bail for the first time since his arrest in January 2009.
Mr. Bharat Kumar, Raju’s lawyer said, “Raju is critically ill. He has some ailments and he has not been provided proper treatment all these days complicating his condition. It is absolutely necessary for him to seek a better treatment outside at this point.”
However, doctors at NISM told reporters that Raju’s health was stable and would be shifted to his room soon. On the other hand, Kumar alleged that NISM authorities kept Raju waiting for about seven hours before giving treatment.
He said, “Finally it was diagnosed to be heart attack. Imagine the plight of a person who had designed the 108 emergency medical services to wait for seven hours before getting treatment.”
In the meantime, Srinivas Vadlamni, brother of B R Raju and former CFO of Satyam, has not filed any bail application.
“It is on health grounds we are seeking a bail for Raju. For others, we have to file the applications at an appropriate time,” Mr. Kumar added
Mr. Raju has been charged by several investigating agencies after being involved in Satyam fraud.
