Skoda Auto India sold 1854 units in Sep

Czech luxury car maker, Skoda Auto India has announced a growth of 53% in its sales during September 2009. As reported by the company, it has sold out as many as 1,854 units during the month. The company had sold only 1, 213 units in same period last year.

While talking to media persons, SkodaAuto India Board Member (Sales and Marketing), Mr. Thomas Kuehl said, “We are extremely delighted with the significant growth in sales this September resulting from the phenomenal response of our large base of loyal customers. We are optimistic that the 2009 festival season will continue to see a much stronger response to our products and services and help drive growth in our sales in the coming months.”

Under the C+ segment, Skoda sold 684 units of Octavia and New Laura models, whereas in the D segment its Superb records sales of 257 units in September 2009.

“Strengthening our dealer base will play a vital role in continuing to enhance the Skoda customer care experience. Our expansion strategy is to create a strong authorised dealer network in India...We will increase our presence to 65 outlets by end of 2009,” said Mr. Ashutosh Dixit, General Manager (Sales and Network Development) of SkodaAuto India.
