Adlabs Films, recently renamed as Reliance MediaWorks, has said that the Big Cinemas chain have been divided into two geography-based strategic business units.
During a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Reliance MediaWorks said that the company has regrouped the Big Cinemas process into geographies to properly support its working in regional markets. The company would largely focus on operations in North, East and Central India.
Talking to media, Mr. Anil Arjun, CEO of Reliance MediaWorks said, “Big Cinemas network is expanding across the country and we are putting in place a core team of leaders to drive the strategy and further augment the company's ability to serve our customers better.”
As per the company’s filing, Reliance MediaWorks has planned to add 100 more screens by 2011 increasing presence across 85 cities. The service would satisfy more than 35 million customers around the world.
Presently, Reliance MediaWorks has 459 screens across India, US, Netherlands and Malaysia. Mr. Ashish Saksena has been selected as chief operating officer for Big Cinemas for West and South India.
