Two Maoists were killed and two other were arrested in an encounter with the combined forces in West Bengal's West Midnapore district. The incident took place, when the state police forces along with CRPF were holding a march in the forest areas of Kadasol.
According to State Inspector General (Law and Order), Surajit Kar Purakayastha, “Two Maoists were killed in the firing and two squad members were arrested by the central forces today (Wednesday). No one from the security forces was injured in the gun battle.”
However, District Police Superintendent, Mr. Manoj Verma said that the encounter is still going on and eight more forces companies have been sent to the area to take revenge from Maoists.
He added that there was no casualty among the security forces, and the armed forces have recovered the two bodies of Maoists, identified as group leaders.
Police force has recovered three guns and a large amount of ammunition from the dead and the arrested Maoists.
