AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh received minor head injuries in a scuffle between police and party workers.

The incident took place, when he was leading in a protest against the State Government’s so-called failure to supply proper power.

State party leaders said that Digvijay Singh was hurt when he was trying to enter into the collector’s office, but the police stopped him.

During this, the rally turned violent and in return police has to resort to lathicharge. Mr. Singh and 15 workers including Congress MLA from Khilcipur, Priyawrat Singh, were injured in the Lathicharge.

Talking to reporters, Rajgarh Collector Shivanand Dubey said, “Digvijay Singh received injuries and was taken to the district hospital for first aid but maintained there was no police action.”

Before that Mr. Singh also participated in a dharna and addressed a public meeting in protest against unexpected power cuts in the district.
