Yahoo to replace SpotM with Guru

Yahoo India has decided to shut down the social networking service SpotM, which it began examining in India a year ago.

Yahoo India has not given up on with the social networking concept and will now replace SpotM with Guru. Drawing from the experiences of Facebook, Yahoo will look to make a common theme in its social networking sites with minor adjustments for specific geographie.”

SpotM is the third social network that Yahoo will have shut down.

Before that, the company had closed Yahoo 360 in July and shut down ‘Yahoo Mash’ last summer. All the official paperwork concerning Guru has been completed.
