The Rajiv Gandhi Awards were presented at the 12th awards ceremony in Mumbai on Wednesday. It was a sparking award ceremony during which many youths from their respective fields were honored.
The winners of the 12th Rajiv Gandhi Awards were from different categories but one thing they have in common is that they have motivated many other youths to work hard to achieve their targets.
This year, Rajiv Gandhi Awards were distributed among 12 categories.
The winners this year include Vineet Jain, MD of The Times Group, for Industry, actors Shahid Kapoor and Katrina Kaif for Entertainment, Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra for Sports, Ramesh Chandra Agarwal for Journalism, Narendra Jafhav for Education, Sam Pitroda for the Global Indian category, Rohit Kochhar for Young Entrepreneur, Rajashree Birla in the Social Field, G Madhavan Nair as Superachiver, Avika Gor for Child Prodigy and Krushnaa Patil as Woman Achiever.
During the occasion, Industrialist Vineet Jain said, “Rajiv Gandhi will be remembered as a great youth icon who promoted technology in the country. He also believed in our cause and stood for the freedom of press.”
He also thanked every employee of the Times Group.
‘The celebration of the young and successful India’ was the theme this year.
Vilasrao Deshmukh, Kamal Nath, Ashok Chavan, Milind Deora, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Sanjay Nirupam, Eknath Gaikwad and Mohammed Azharuddin were also there.
Actor Shahid Kapoor said, “I am just 28 years old and only five years in the profession. I grew up watching Rajiv Gandhi and I too want to do something for the country.”
Film stars Priyanka Chopra, Hrithik Roshan, Esha Deol and TV actor Hussain Kuwajerwala entertained people with their performances.
