Honda’s CBF Stunner to Approaches India

A new version of CBF Stunner sports bike which has been priced at Rs 64,630 (ex-showroom, Delhi), was unveiled by Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI).

The Japan-based two-wheeler pioneer Honda Motor Company has been preparing to enter the high-volume 100 cc bike segment in 2010.

The new CBF Stunner with a 125 cc air-cooled four-stroke self-start engine which delivers 11.6 bhp power is targeted at youth.

Apart from this, PGM-FI (programmed fuel injection) technology that increases fuel efficiency (65 km a litre) has been instilled in it.

It should be mentioned here that the two-wheeler company is already selling CBF Stunner FI in Europe. It is now eying on boosting its sales in Indian markets.

At the launch of the new bike, Shinji Aoyama (CEO- HMSI) told media persons, "Last fiscal we sold about 10.7-lakh two-wheelers and this year we are targeting 12 per cent increase at 12.5-lakh units. CBF Stunner will play an important role in meeting the sales target."

Aoyama further added that by the year 2010, the company would penetrate the 100-cc entry level motorcycle segment. The advance estimated cost of the bike would cost between Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 45,000.

The much awaited bike from the company will hit the Indian roads by the first week of June.
