Gang of women thieves caught in Delhi
Submitted by Kamal Gupta on Tue, 09/15/2009 - 11:29The Delhi police have arrested a gang of women thieves, who were inspired by a Bollywood movie and entered in the world of crime. The local police have arrested five members of the gang.
The local police also arrested Gurvachan (45), who allegedly bought the stolen material from the gang.
While talking to media, Deputy Commissioner of Police (west), Mr. Sharad Aggarwal said, "Forty-eight batteries used for providing back up in signal towers of mobile service provider which the gang allegedly stole were recovered from them."
Fire At candle factory in Delhi
Submitted by Kamal Gupta on Tue, 09/15/2009 - 10:31A major fire broke out at a candle factory in the national capital. The incident took place at the Naraina Industrial Area here on Saturday.
The fire was so awful that it covered the entire building within few hours and about 25 fire vehicles were called to douse the fire. However, no fatal accident was reported.
Delay in Delhi Metro due to Technical problem
Submitted by Kamal Gupta on Tue, 09/15/2009 - 10:28A technical fault in a Metro train held up services in New Delhi by at least 15 minutes, causing trouble to passengers.
A coach of the Delhi Metro derailed near the Yamuna Bank station in east Delhi. The train stopped there for at least 15 minutes, which causes problems to passengers.
No injury was reported in the incident.
Talking to press, a DMRC official said, "A Metro train going towards Yamuna Bank from Dwarka Sector 9 developed a break problem in the middle of its journey which led to the delay."
29 new police stations for National Capital

Out of the 29 stations, seven has already started working.
Robbers steal cash and jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh from trader’s home
Submitted by Navjot Singh on Tue, 09/01/2009 - 07:23Unknown men entered into the house of a businessman and took away cash and jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh. The incident took place, when there was no one at the house in Mayur Vihar area.
As per police report, Rajesh Kumar’s house was robbed at about 9:30 pm on Saturday. He is a resident of Partap Nagar in Mayur Vihar Phase-I.
Talking to media, a senior police officer said that Mr. Kumar’s neighbors informed him about the incident.
He added “We got a call from the house owner himself.”
CBSE Class X exams optional, Parents unhappy

The decision was made in a meeting of the Council of Boards of School Education (Cobse) at New Delhi. Legislative bodies of around 42 secondary boards of the country were present at the meeting.
LeT terrorist arrested in Delhi
Submitted by Kamal Gupta on Wed, 08/26/2009 - 08:19A suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist was arrested from the capital along with some explosives.
The special cell of Delhi Police averted a major attack in the state.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Alok Kumar, the LeT terrorist was arrested at the New Delhi Railway Station at around 12:40 pm.
He added that the police seized 5 kg RDX, three detonators and two timer devices from the arrested LeT terrorist.
