Police nabbed three for theft at Kareena’s house
Submitted by Kamal Gupta on Tue, 10/20/2009 - 07:04Police claimed that they had solved the case of theft that took place at Kareena’s house. Moreover, the police officials had also recovered a pearl set and a ring worth Rs 41,000 and Rs 1.53 lakh in cash from the three domestic helps.
The robbery took place on October 8, and the trio had stolen cash and other valuables worth Rs 2.50 lakh from Kareena’s house.
The three arrested were identified as Pawansingh Chouhan (24), Anita Osami (35) and Tina Yadav (26), and they confessed the theft, said Additional Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta.
Motorola to supply Digital Radio Communication solutions to Delhi and Mumbai metro

As per the statement issued by Motorola, both have selected Motorola's TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio) digital radio communication platform to make sure mission-critical communication over their rail networks. The company has also bagged similar deals from Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad airports.
CCTV to keep an eye on Mumbai traffic
Submitted by Kamal Gupta on Fri, 09/11/2009 - 07:36Mumbai has become the first city in India to have high-tech CCTV observation to monitor traffic system in the city. There are about 100 traffic junctions in the city where CCTV will keep an eye on traffic.
While talking to media, Mr. Sanjay Barve, Joint Commissioner of Police traffic said, “The system shall combine the efficiency of video detection with the flexibility of PTZ (pan, tilt and zoom) cameras.”
CCTV will help to observe traffic snarls and violations, increasing road security, breakdown of signals and traffic in festivals.
UTV Software to generate Rs 100 crore by issuing NCDs to LIC

As per the statement issued by UTV Software, the board has also approved the appointment of Robert Gilby and Sanjay Purohit as additional directors of the company.
Air India plane engine catches fire, passengers safe
Submitted by Kamal Gupta on Sat, 09/05/2009 - 07:31A big accident was avoided at Mumbai Airport on Friday morning, when AI plane’s engine caught fire with 213 passengers on board.
An emergency landing was declared by the airport authorities while it was taxiing for take-off.
According to the reports, one of the passenger on the board noticed some sparks coming out of the engine. The plane was bound for Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh.
All the passengers on-board were safely evacuated. Four fire extinguishers were rushed to the spot along with other equipment and personnel.

Emergency landing by Air India flight due to technical fault
Submitted by Kamal Gupta on Fri, 08/28/2009 - 08:56An Air India flight from Mumbai-Bangalore (IC 109) made an emergency landing at Mumbai airport due to hydraulic failure on Wednesday morning.
However, all the 87 passengers on board were safe. The flight was delayed for about 35 minutes.
Talking to media, an Air India spokesperson said, “Flight no IC-109 took-off at 0937 hours but soon returned to Mumbai after a technical snag was reported in the aircraft.”
Sensex down 324 points

BSE Sensex closed down by 324 points or 2.33% at 13,589.37 points and NSE Nifty closed at 4,107.7 points down 3.06 per cent.
Out of total 2,810 traded shares on BSE, 1,452 suffered loses, 1,326 gained and rest 32 were unchanged today.
Among the top losers, Reliance Communications down by 9.73 %, Ranbaxy Laboratories down by 7.91% and Bharti Airtel down by 5.71%.
