Rs 10 crore recovered from senior VHP leader in Jaipur

The Income Tax Department has recovered Rs 10 crore in cash, and jewellery worth Rs 57 lakh from a Jaipur-based broker-cum-private lender Deen Dayal Modi.

Talking to media, Additional Director of Income Tax, Mr. Prasannjett Singh said, “We have seized Rs 10 crore in cash and jewellery worth Rs 57 lakh from the premises of the financial broker.”

Modi is the "sangrashak" of Jaipur "prant" of VHP and is its senior most leaders in Rajasthan.

Bharti Airtel rolls out mChek on Voice

Telecommunication major Bharti Airtel has launched its mobile-based payment application application called ‘mChek on Airtel’.

The new service will help Airtel customers to make payments on the voice platform.

Addressing to media, President of mobile services, Bharti Airtel, Mr. Atul Bindal said, “There is a tremendous potential for voice-enabled m-Commerce services in India and we are giving a huge thrust in this area.”

India all set to build $5.1 billion power plant in Iran

State-owned power utility NTPC may come up with a 250 billion rupee ($5.1 billion) natural gas-fired power plant in Iran to generate at least 5,000 megawatts.

Notably, India imports 70 per cent of the oil it consumes. Moreover, there is a huge shortage of coal, shortage of gas in the country.

Govt’s gift to farmers, subsidy on seeds raised to Rs 288 crore

The Central Government has announced more subsidies on seeds of different yields to Rs 288 crore to fight with drought situation.

Talking to media, after the first meeting of the Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM) on drought, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said, “We have decided to distribute good quality seeds in time to farmers and have stepped up subsidy to the extent of Rs 288 crore so that farmers get subsidy directly, which will get reflected in the pricing of seeds.”

India to apply Chinese methods to deal with air and water pollution

Minister of State for Environment and Forests Jairam Ramesh, on Tuesday, has said that India is likely to imitate China for their approach to deal with air and water pollution.

China has used scientific technology and management controls to check the emission of waste gases and liquids in the environment.

Ramesh also told that China has agreed to propose India as a member of the league, which is researching on issues of climate control. This league has China, Japan and Korea as members.

MSI unveils the NF980-G65 AM3 motherboard

MSI, renowned computer hardware manufacturer, has launched its new motherboard called the MSI nForce 980-G65 in the Indian market. The NF980-G65 supports an AMD processor and comes with a supplementary NF200 controlling chip.

The newly introduced motherboard comes with an AM3 socket and can back up the latest Phenom II CPU. It also includes an Nvidia nForce 980a chipset and can support

Maruti to launch a new revived Estilo

India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch a new model of Zen Estilo. The new model is reported to have the latest KB series engine.

These KB series engines are said to be very fuel efficient and also fulfill the Bharat stage IV and Euro V emission norms.

The Gurgaon manufacturing plant of the Maruti has been selected for the production of the new Estilo. It is the same plant from where the A-Star and Ritz has been manufactured.

The new car is expected to cost around Rs 3.06 lakh to Rs 3.32 lakh.

Maruti to construct R&D unit in Rohtak

India’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki has announced to establish a research and development complex at Rohtak in Haryana. The Company has   already been allotted a 700 acres of area for this purpose by Haryana government.
 
Mr. Shinzo Nakanishi, Maruti Suzuki MD and CEO has signed the land allotment agreement with Mr. Rajeev Arora, HSIIDC MD in Rohtak on Friday. The proposed R&D unit is reported to be the largest such unit by Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) outside Japan.
 

PM Manmohan Singh talks with Nokia Chief

Nokia Corp president and Chief Executive Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo met Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and talked about the government’s polices and steps taken by the company to avail affordable connectivity in India.

According to the sources, Nokia will provide the handsets in rural parts of India. The company will offer the handsets even on installments.
