Uttar Pradesh gets new DGP

The Uttar Pradesh government has removed Director General of Police (DGP) Vikram Singh, and the new charge has been handed over to Mr. Karamveer Singh. 
However, no official reason has been mentioned behind the removal of Mr. Vikram Singh. Vikram Singh is a 1975 batch IPS officer, and had been leading the UP police force since the Mayawati govt came into power in 2007. 

Red signal for Maya’s Noida park construction

The Supreme Court appointed Central Empowered Committee (CEC), on Friday, ordered to stop the progress work of the construction Ambedkar Park in Noida with immediate effect for violating environmental laws.

The Mayawati administration is building the Bhimrao Ambedkar Park in Noida with an estimated total cost of Rs 550 crore on the banks of the River Yamuna.

Mayawati’s second innings as BSP chief

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has once again elected as the President of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) for next three-year term.

The election for the post took place at a two-day conference of the BSP national executive, which concluded at Mayawati’s official residence.

She was first elected party chief in 2006.

It all started when party’s founder Kanshiram was in poor health and he decided to hand over his duties to Mayawati. After Kanshiram's death, Maya was elected as the leader BSP.
