Ramalinga Raju shifted to ICU

Founder of Satyam Computer Services, B. Ramalinga Raju was shifted to the ICU on Thursday night at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Science (NIMS) after he complained of chest pain. 

According to the reports, Raju’s bail application will come up for hearing at local court in Hyderabad. 

Mr. B. R. Raju has applied for the bail for the first time since his arrest in January 2009. 

Indian Army, IAF hold war-game near China border

With the objective to check their readiness, Indian Army as well as the Air Force carried out a joint exercise in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh near the Chinese border during the last week. 

The joint exercise took place along the 4,057 km Line of Actual Control with China. 

The three-day operation, which was named as ‘Operation Pralay’, comprised all the frontline fighter aircraft such as Sukhoi, Mirage-2000, MiG-29, MiG-27 and IL-78 air-to-air refueling planes. 

Indian Monsoon departs without much rain in most parts

South-west monsoon has entered in the departure phase, which shows an end of this season’s monsoon. According to the report released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the country has received 22% less rain this season and half of the country faces shortfall of rain.

Talking to media, an official from IMD said, “'The southwest monsoon has withdrawn from many parts of Rajasthan Friday and is likely to withdraw from some more parts of northwest India, including Delhi, during the next three to four days.”

Uttar Pradesh gets new DGP

The Uttar Pradesh government has removed Director General of Police (DGP) Vikram Singh, and the new charge has been handed over to Mr. Karamveer Singh. 
However, no official reason has been mentioned behind the removal of Mr. Vikram Singh. Vikram Singh is a 1975 batch IPS officer, and had been leading the UP police force since the Mayawati govt came into power in 2007. 

Woman commits suicide after watching Sach ka Saamna

A 32-year old lady from Agra committed suicide after watching Sach Ka Saamna. The lady was badly affected by stress and mental trauma after watching TV actress Roopa Ganguly in the truth provoking reality show. The lady resembled herself with the actress, who had uncovered the fact that she had failed as a daughter, wife and as a mother too.

Wanted ‘International girl trafficker’ arrested at Kolkata airport

A 37-year old woman, allegedly involved in the trafficking of girls in East Asian countries, has been arrested by the police on arrival from Bangkok at the N S C B international airport.

According to an airport official, the woman had produced the fake passport after her arrival from the Air India Express Bangkok-Kolkata flight. The woman alias Jyoti Rana alias Nisha Sharma alias Meherunnisa is a Delhi resident.

AL flight takes off without 25 riders

The incident took place at Netaji Subhash Chandra International Airport in Kolkata. A Port Blair-bound Air India flight took off without 25 passengers. All the 25 passengers had confirmed their tickets but the plane did not have the sitting capacity for them.

Gang of women thieves caught in Delhi

The Delhi police have arrested a gang of women thieves, who were inspired by a Bollywood movie and entered in the world of crime. The local police have arrested five members of the gang.

The local police also arrested Gurvachan (45), who allegedly bought the stolen material from the gang.

While talking to media, Deputy Commissioner of Police (west), Mr. Sharad Aggarwal said, "Forty-eight batteries used for providing back up in signal towers of mobile service provider which the gang allegedly stole were recovered from them."

Delay in Delhi Metro due to Technical problem

A technical fault in a Metro train held up services in New Delhi by at least 15 minutes, causing trouble to passengers.

A coach of the Delhi Metro derailed near the Yamuna Bank station in east Delhi. The train stopped there for at least 15 minutes, which causes problems to passengers. 

No injury was reported in the incident.

Talking to press, a DMRC official said, "A Metro train going towards Yamuna Bank from Dwarka Sector 9 developed a break problem in the middle of its journey which led to the delay."

Heavy rain interrupted normal life though-out the country

After three days heavy rain, the national capital got a breather morning today, but the Met officials said that the city may receive light rains later in the day.

Delhi has recorded 11mm rain till Saturday morning.

While talking to press, a met official said, “Till 8.30 a.m. (Saturday) 11 mm rainfall was recorded. During the day an overcast sky with light rains is predicted. Towards the evening the sky will become partly cloudy.”
