Karbonn plans to invest Rs 100cr in India

Moreover, the company anticipates gaining 7-10 percent market share in the multimedia handset zone in India.
Karbonn Mobiles is a joint venture between Delhi-based Jaina groups and UTL.
TCS signs deal with Singapore Govt body

People’s Association is a constitutional board under Singapore’s Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports.
In a communiqué to NSE, TCS said that it will develop and maintain software applications for the association.
Tata DoCoMo GPRS is limited now

As per the newly revised GPRS plan, with the recharge of Rs 15 pack, customers can use free data upto 20MB for 3 days.
In the same manner, Rs 95 GPRS Pack will offer free data usage of 100 MB and the pack is valid for 30 days.
Vodafone lifting India venture stake by 6%
Submitted by Kamal Gupta on Fri, 09/25/2009 - 06:45Due to the recent changes to India’s regulations concerning foreign investment, UK-based Vodafone Group aims to increase its stake by 6 % in its Indian subsidiary. The company already holds 52 per cent of its Indian mobile joint venture.
It is said that company is buying 6 % stake from two of its companions for Rs 8.62 billion.
According to the reports, former MD of the Indian ventures Asim Ghosh, who posseses 4.68% of Vodafone Essar, and Indian businessman Analjit Singh, who holds 7.58%, would sell 49% of their holdings to Vodafone.
BharatMatrimony.com Sues Google for Trademark Infringement

The case was filed by BharatMatrimony.com, one of the leading matrimony website of the country, owned by Consim Info.
In the case, which has been registered in the Madras High Court, it disclosed that when a user does a search with the keyword BharatMatrimony, Google shows ads of its competitor websites like Shaadi.com.
Star One and Star Vijay on mobile

Star has joined hands with Apalya Technologies PVT Ltd. for streaming its satellite channels for mobile users across all leading operators and regions.
In the beginning, Star will launch the service with video-on-demand content.
BigMaps on Reliance's GSM network!

The BigMaps service is only available for RCom through SMS, WAP and downloads. The newly launched users will be provided with maps data across 15 zoom levels and real time landmark based routing.
FM to try to persuade WB Govt on IT project

During a press release, Finance Minister said, "It is unfortunate. It does not convey a good signal. I will talk to state government to see if land is provided to the companies."
He also ensured that the IT majors will provide jobs to at least 5,000 to 10,000 youths in the state.
Nokia may roll out its push email service by Dec

The push email service is named as Nokia Messaging.
Nokia has been undertaking experiments for push email service in India since April, and now the company is in the process of getting the green signal from the Indian Department of Telecommunications (DoT).
First Dual-screen laptop coming soon

An Anchorage computer developer, gScreen Computer Corp., developed a plan to built dual screen laptop.
Accordingly, they designed the gScreen Spacebook and plan to establish manufacturing unit in about six to eight weeks.
It's the first dual-screen laptop computer having two screens and a full-size keyboard built into one laptop unit.
